Organization: Jewelry!

Ahh the age old question every girl asks herself when she's getting ready...WHERE THE HELL IS MY (insert jewelry item here)?!?!! This happens to me more than I would like to admit (mainly because I always leave it at the boyfriends house). I've discovered a few solutions that help me to stay organize and to get dressed faster and thought I'd share with you (aren't you lucky!?).

First thing: Necklaces.
These go on first for me because they are the easiest and don't get in your way.  I found this great jewelry organizer at Charming Charlie. They have a ton of different colors and prints so you're bound to find one that fits your decor.

Second Thing: Bangles!
Who doesn't love a good arm party?? I mean, c'mon seriously!  I was lucky enough to find this at a boutique's going out of business sale for only 5 bucks but you can probably find one just like it on eBay! It really has changed my bangle accessorizing for the better.

Third Thing: RINGS.
Rings are my jam. I love them. They seriously make me feel like a rockstar. I love wearing them especially when I am typing...I know it's strange but it just makes writing papers and what not just feel so much cooler. This awesome (and a little bit creepy) hand was given to me from my sister when I moved away to college.

Fourth Thing: Purses.
Whether your into giant hobos or small clutches or even backpacks (hey I'm not judging, rock 'em if you can!), purses are probably the most difficult thing to store and organize. Over the years I have found what works for me and that is what you see below. I keep my current obsessions on my coat rack right by the door, easy to see and grab when heading out. All my other bags I keep in my closet on a bookshelf on top of a shelf (instant storage without spending a ton on those fancy closet systems!) They are organized by color and use, with the least used on top and the more used on the bottom (sorry no pic of the closet, it's a little hard to get in at the moment but I pinky promise an apartment post soon!)

My Louis Vuitton cross body was my first designer bag I got at age 11. It's a hand me down from Mom. It is still my favorite bag.

AND finally, the others: hats, scarfs and headbands are thrown in a storage bin in my closet (I don't wear them too often, unless it's cold out, which is never.)
The only REAL accessory a girl needs is a cuddly cat.

So that's it ya'll. Organization is awesome. It really does a soul wonders to be organized and have everything (even little things, like rings) in their place and easy to find. It makes getting ready so much better. I mean, seriously, who wants to spend their time getting ready looking for things?! Not this girl. I'd rather dance.  And with that, I bid you good luck on your organization endeavors and remember think creatively, look for inspiration, and don't stress. Adios Amigos.

(You may ask yourself "where does she store earrings?".  The answer is, I don't wear earrings. My holes closed up about two years ago but the earrings I do own are on the flip side of the necklace holder from charming charlie.)

FUNdamentals for Summer!

Summer is here people! SO get ready! As you may or may not know by now but I live in Florida or what I like to call it during summer, hell. It's hot. It's swampy. It's humid. It's M-I-S-E-R-A-B-L-E. I can't even go outside for more than a minute without feeling like I'm melting or going into some heat- induced panic attack.  BUT I live here (for now at least) and I have to make do and survive and in order to survive the summer I have a few fundamentals to help me make it through.

Summer
Maxi DressWhite Button Down TunicBrown SandalsShortsRayBans Lip BalmFedoraSunscreen Evian Spray
First of all, the most important thing is sunscreen. Sunburns aren't cool and if you want to be tan get a spray tan. Another summer essential for me is the Evian face mister. It's a life saver and instantly cools you down! It's a little pricey so in order to save money you can just buy a small spray bottle in the dollar section and fill it with Evian bottle water or whatever water you like. For my lips, I like a little color so the new M.A.C. Hey sailor sun tints are perfect! While we would love to walk around in just our bathing suits all summer that is not socially acceptable (yet!), thats where jean shorts come in handy. Match them with whatever you please, they will keep your legs cool and look stylish too. Next thing is a white button down tunic, wear it as a cover up or a shirt, it's just awesome. My favorite dress for summer is a maxi dress. It's so flowy and comfy and you can still sit criss cross indian style on the floor without worry about your underhoos showing. On my feet I wear a pair of neutral sandals or sandoots! And I ALWAYS grab my Rayban wayfarers and a fedora. Now it's time for me to face the heat yet again. Wish me luck! Adios Amigos!

Sunday Inspiration

Audrey Hepburn in Sabrina
"I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick. I believe in pink. I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day, and... I believe in miracles."
 -Audrey Hepburn

Just a little Sunday inspiration to get through the week. I'm spending the day with my kitty, peppermint tea, an Audrey Hepburn movie marathon and working on blog entries. Hope everyone is having a lovely afternoon!

Summer Shoes

Shoes: Jeffery Campbell

While I spend most of my day barefoot, when I do have to put on shoes I'm grabbing these babies. Living in Florida, I don't get to wear boots very often (unless of course I want my feet to sweat like crazy!). These shoes are the perfect combo of boot and sandal. I like to call them boondals or sandoots, okay, actually I just made that up but both those names are pretty awesome if I do say so myself! Below, I have found some other awesome boot sandals that I wish I had in my possession (sigh, someday).

boot sandals
From Left to Right: Jimmy Choo, Irregular Choice, Jeffery Campbell, Betsey Johnson

They are perfect for any outfit from high waisted ripped jean shorts and a white tank to a flirty sun dress. While summer outfits can sometimes feel a little boring (especially if the only shoes you wear are flip flops), boot sandals add that little bit of pizzaz and oomph to make any blah summer outfit feel fun and different! SO I ask you, would you wear boondals? What's your favorite summer shoe?

Which One are You?

Cultured, Viva Glam Gaga 2, Viva Glam 1, Lovelorn, Brave, Pink Nouveau, Vegas Volt, Shy Girl, Orange Tempera

Lipstick. It's something that I used to be very, very afraid of. I wouldn't even wear lipgloss, just plain Burt's Bees.  But in the past year I have become obsessed, I mean seriously OBSESSED. Not only do I love wearing it but going to the counter and picking out a new one is always so fun and refreshing. I walk up to the counter feeling blah and leave feeling like a brand new girl ready to take on the world. It really finishes a look and makes me feel so much more polished. Currenlty my go-to lip pies are M.A.C brave and lovelorn. Do you wear lipstick or are you more of a chapstick girl? Do you have a favorite brand? Mine is obviously M.A.C. but I am always up for a new suggestion!

Meow Mix

traditional leopard print with the classic denim shirt and flatforms.
(jeans:Target, denim button down: f21, flatforms: Ecote)

black and gray leopard with neon sandals and neon toenails.
(jeans: Target, sandals: f21)
MEOW, MEOW, RAWR, HISS! Okay, now that that is out of the way I can move on to more important things like the fact that I recently found two pairs of leopard pants on sale for fifty percent off.  At first I was skeptical about the practicality of owning not one, but two pairs of outrageous pants, but I soon discovered the amazing fact that leopard is a neutral (meaning it goes with ANYTHING). Really, it does, try it with denim shirts to stripe tops to neon. So I encourage all you crazy fashionistas to go and purchase this newly discovered (at least new to me!) neutral and take it out for a test run. Believe me when I say that wearing leopard really does make you feel more cat-like, and that is never a bad thing. MEOOOW (that is bye in catspeak, which I speak fluently).
